Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda both miss cuts

World number ones Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda missed cuts on the same day for the first time in two decades. Scheffler ended a 78-start streak at the Scottish Open while Korda snapped her 34-start run at the Evian Championship.

Scheffler carded rounds of 68 and 72 at the Renaissance Club to miss the cut by two shots. He said he did not play poorly but failed to hit approaches close enough for birdie opportunities.

Korda posted 74 and 69 at the Evian Resort to fall one shot short. She did not speak to reporters after her rounds.

The double miss marked the first time both the men's and women's top-ranked players failed to make the weekend on the same day since the Rolex Rankings began in 2006.

Scheffler heads to the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in six days. Korda has an off week before the Women's Scottish Open.

Nine notable golfers failed to advance past the 36-hole cut at the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Among them were former champions and recent winners who entered the week with strong form. Players at one over par or better advanced to the weekend rounds.

Following her five-shot victory at the 2026 Chevron Championship—her third major title—Nelly Korda has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, leapfrogging Jeeno Thitikul. This caps a strong start to the year for the American star amid the tournament's ongoing coverage.
