The Sims Community website is expanding its coverage to include other life simulation games and seeking freelance writers to join its team. The initiative introduces a new 'Life Sim Games' section for franchises like Paralives, InZOI, and Tomodachi Life. Applications are open until February 9, 2026.
The Sims Community platform announced on January 29, 2026, that it is hiring freelance authors to create content on The Sims and broader life simulation games. This move aligns with recent backend updates to the site's layout and coding, aimed at enhancing user experience and expanding beyond The Sims to include news on Paralives, InZOI, and Tomodachi Life 2 from Nintendo.
A new subcategory, Life Sim Games, will feature general news and information on life sim titles excluding The Sims, allowing users to customize their news feeds. The freelance positions are paid monthly and require applicants to be over 18 years old for payment processing.
Open roles include:
- The Sims Player Stories Reporter: Focuses on highlighting player-reported drama, glitches, and stories from The Sims games, including main entries like The Sims 4 and spin-offs. Responsibilities involve tracking trends on social boards, writing articles, and recreating scenarios with screenshots. Requirements: Strong English writing skills, ability to capture in-game footage, ownership of more than half of The Sims 4 packs, and capacity to run the game on high graphics settings.
- The Sims 4 Mods & CC Author: Covers mod releases, guides, custom content collections, and early access previews from Sims creators.
- Tomodachi Life News and Gameplay Author: Handles updates and guides for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, set for Nintendo Switch 2 release on April 16, 2026. Applicants must own the console and game, with interest in retroactive coverage of the original Tomodachi Life.
- InZOI Reporter: Reports on official updates, roadmaps, player stories, and community content for InZOI, requiring the game to run on medium graphics on Windows PC.
- General Life Simulation Games Reporter: Spotlights indie and publisher releases, ex-Sims creators' work, and custom content across titles like InZOI, Paralives, and Animal Crossing.
A flexible 'Suggest Your Role' option invites ideas for additional positions related to The Sims, InZOI, or Paralives. To apply, candidates must submit via an online form or email to contact@simscommunity.info, including a 300- to 600-word article sample with screenshots and a personal message. The deadline is February 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, with responses to follow within a week.
