Kaboly stated on 93.7 The Fan that the Steelers were not surprised, as they had not expected Jones to be ready for Week 1 or even training camp. He noted the team felt comfortable with Jones' status just last week, given his movement during workouts. Despite the complication at tackle, Kaboly advised against prioritizing that position with the Steelers' No. 21 overall pick. Instead, he recommended pursuing Olaivavega Ioane, described as the best pure guard in the draft class and a standout in the run game and pass protection. Kaboly proposed that if Ioane is available at 21, the Steelers should select him, potentially shifting Spencer Anderson and Dylan Cook to left tackle in the short term. He questioned how far the team might trade up, given their 12 draft picks. The Baltimore Ravens, picking at No. 14, are seen as a possible suitor for Ioane, though guards sometimes slide in drafts.
