The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly waived cornerback Cory Trice Jr., a move that slightly improves the roster outlook for seventh-round pick Donte Kent. Kent, who has battled multiple injuries since being selected a year ago, now faces one fewer competitor in a crowded secondary room.
The waiver reduces the number of players ahead of Kent on the depth chart. Trice had missed roughly 45 games over three seasons due to injuries and had only limited snaps when healthy. Both players had seen their practice windows opened last year while on injured reserve, but further setbacks followed for Kent.
