British rider Storm Straker has been declared the winner of the CCI4*-S class at Royal Jump following a review by FEI headquarters. The decision corrects results from the French event held 28-31 May.
The optimum time for the cross-country phase was adjusted from seven minutes to six minutes 36 seconds before the competition began. Storm Straker and her horse Fever Pitch were the winners under the revised time, but initial results placed her fifth. An FEI review confirmed that athletes had been informed of the change through multiple channels including briefings and the event website. The governing body determined that results must reflect the accurate time of six minutes 36 seconds to comply with eventing rules. “I am very pleased that the FEI reviewed the matter thoroughly and that the results have now been corrected,” Storm Straker said. She added that the horse gave an exceptional performance and deserves the recognition. The updated results will be published on the FEI database and used to calculate world rankings. The FEI acknowledged confusion caused by the issue and said organisational concerns at the event will be addressed with the organiser.
