Sylvan Esso has announced its first album in four years. The record, titled Ow ∞, will arrive on September 11 via the duo's own Psychic Hotline label.
The North Carolina act, which last released No Rules Sandy, shared a new single called “Concrete Glen.” The track samples Sigur Rós’ “Svefn-g-englar” from the album Ágætis Byrjun. A video for the song was directed by Aaron Anderson and Eric Timothy Carlson.
Amelia Meath offered thoughts on the album’s approach in a press release. She described stripping ideas down to create space that engages listeners. The record features contributions from Daniel Aged, BJ Burton, Matt Douglas, Glenn Kotche, Jake Luppen, TJ Maiani, James Mapley-Brittle, Buddy Ross, Jenn Wasner, and Joe Westerlund.
Listening events are planned worldwide on September 3. The group also announced a North American tour that starts in the fall, with a second leg set for early 2027. The band removed its catalog from Spotify last year.
