AICM stated that AVSEC security personnel, the Naval Airport Protection Unit, and the Search, Location, and Neutralization of Explosive Devices team (BLONAE) inspected the aircraft and luggage. No signs of explosives were found, confirming a hoax.

Viva Aerobus immediately activated security protocols and alerted authorities. “Authorities gave official authorization to restart platform operations and our crew began passenger boarding,” the airline reported. Flight VB1104 departed normally to Mérida.

No disruptions to takeoffs, landings, or general operations were reported. Authorities conduct regular drills, such as the August 2025 Aerotrén simulation, to refine emergency plans ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
