More than 42,000 high school students began the university entrance exams in Madrid on Monday. The tests will run until June 11 across Spain for about 300,000 students.
The exams began at the Complutense University of Madrid, where students faced the Spanish Language and Literature test in the morning. Topics such as Shakespeare, realism and naturalism appeared in the questions.
The autonomous communities have adopted different schedules. Most, including Andalusia and Aragon, will hold the tests between June 2 and 4. Catalonia has scheduled them from June 9 to 11.
Cutoff scores for the 2026-2027 academic year are already available. Medicine at the University of Seville requires the highest mark at 13.34. The double degree in Physics and Mathematics at the Complutense University needs 13.7.
To prevent fraud, several communities are using frequency detectors. At Complutense, invigilators warned students about the devices and collected items such as headphones and smartwatches.
