US commends Ethiopia's work to expand investment climate

US Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga praised Ethiopia's efforts to expand its investment climate during a meeting with Ethiopian Investment Commission Commissioner Dr. Zeleke Temesgen.

In a meeting held in Addis Ababa, the commissioner outlined investment opportunities in Ethiopia and ongoing work to attract investment. He also explained policy and institutional reforms aimed at addressing challenges faced by investors. Ambassador Massinga commended the reform efforts and noted that stronger and faster implementation would create a suitable environment for US companies to invest widely without concern. The commissioner stated that investment ties between Ethiopia and the US should be further strengthened and expressed readiness to work with the embassy on jointly organizing the US-Ethiopia Business Forum. US investors have shown strong interest in sectors including the international airport, mining, health, infrastructure and technology, the commission said.
