Warpaint returned to the stage for their first gig in nearly two years on June 11, kicking off the Harry Styles-curated Meltdown Festival at London's Southbank Centre.
The Los Angeles indie band performed a set that drew heavily from their early material, opening with 'Burgundy' and including tracks such as 'Love Is To Die', 'Champion' and 'Undertow'. They also played a snippet of the Kate Bush classic 'Running Up That Hill' and closed with an encore of 'Common Blue' and 'Beetles'.
Styles, who selected the band for the festival's opening night, posted on social media to highlight the show and the upcoming lineup that includes Stephen Fretwell, Bar Italia, Dev Hynes and Soulwax through June 21.
Singer and guitarist Theresa Wayman later recalled the band's earlier support slot for Styles in South-east Asia, describing him as supportive and noting his efforts to platform diverse artists.
