Elon Musk claims Tesla's Optimus robot can build civilizations

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has described the company's Optimus humanoid robot as the first Von Neumann machine capable of building a civilization by itself on viable planets. This self-replicating system draws from theoretical concepts for space exploration and colonization. Meta has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), a startup developing AI for robots targeting high-value labor markets. The deal brings ARI's expertise in robot control and self-learning to Meta's push into humanoid machines. Financial terms were not disclosed.
