Thirty-one kings and representatives from Diraja Nusantara attended the Gebyar Pesona Budaya Garut event in central Garut, West Java, on Saturday. Their presence aims to strengthen cultural heritage preservation and tourism networks. The annual event promotes local wisdom and regional cultural ties.
The Gebyar Pesona Budaya Garut took place in downtown Garut on Jalan Ahmad Yani on Saturday (April 26, 2026). Thirty-one kings from Diraja Nusantara participated to support the preservation of ancestral traditions and strengthen cultural collaboration.
Aam Pathulloh, Head of Tourism Marketing at the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Office, described the invitation as a tribute to local wisdom. "For us, this moment is expected to strengthen cultural networks between regions, encourage collaboration, and boost culture-based tourism appeal in Garut," Aam stated.
Cepi Kusuma, Chairman of the Garut Regency Customary Council and event coordinator, explained that Diraja Nusantara is a group of royal lineages. "Coincidentally, Garut hosts the Gebyar Pesona Budaya Garut, which is part of their program to preserve noble cultural values," Cepi said. The kings claim descent from Sunda lineages, enhancing their interest in the event.
This annual event seeks to promote Garut's potential more widely through cultural tourism.
