Afar Region Launches Green Legacy Seedling Planting Program

The Afar Regional State's 2018 Green Legacy Seedling Planting Program began today under the slogan Plant Hope.

The launch ceremony was attended by regional president Awel Arba. He stated that the region has demonstrated a high capacity to grow any type of plants.

He explained that the Green Legacy program goes beyond preserving the region's natural balance and lays a strong foundation for the overall growth and prosperity of future generations. He noted that the region's ongoing sustainable development works can serve as models at national and international levels.

According to the regional communication bureau, encouraging activities started in the Green Legacy sector will continue with increased strength. The president called on the community to actively participate in seedling planting efforts in their localities.
