The AIADMK has complained to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar about inaction on its petitions alleging horse-trading by the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Party leaders submitted a memorandum on Saturday evening urging immediate action.
The AIADMK presented a memorandum to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on May 30 regarding alleged horse-trading by the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. On Saturday evening, party agricultural wing secretary ‘Agri’ S.S. Krishnamurthy and Rajya Sabha Member M. Dhanapal followed up with another submission after no action was taken on an earlier one to Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar.
I.S. Inbadurai, the party’s Rajya Sabha MP, said the AIADMK sought an independent inquiry. The party also raised concerns over two private individuals attending a Cabinet meeting, which it described as a breach of the Official Secrets Act.
Inbadurai recalled the 1991 dismissal of the DMK government over leaks of confidential information on Sri Lankan militants. He noted that the party had orally informed the Governor about private individuals accessing police intelligence reports.
