Alden Richards is set to portray a doctor in the new Kapuso medical drama series "Code Gray," marking his first time in such a role. The actor expressed excitement about the mature and serious character during a recent report. The series is slated to premiere soon on GMA Prime.
Alden Richards, known as Asia's Multimedia Star, will take on the role of a doctor in the upcoming medical drama "Code Gray" on GMA Network's Kapuso channel. This marks a new chapter for the 34-year-old actor, who described it as a fresh challenge in his career.
In a report by Nelson Canlas on "24 Oras" aired Thursday, Richards shared his enthusiasm: "I've never done anything like that before sa career ko and it's gonna be the first again and I'm very excited kasi it's a very mature role. It's very serious, excited lang ako dun sa challenges that's up ahead."
The announcement comes as Richards returns to work after a holiday break in the United States, where he celebrated his 34th birthday with family. Just last month, in December 2025, he held the "ARXV: Moving ForwARd" fan meeting in Laguna to mark his 15th anniversary in show business.
Beyond "Code Gray," Richards teased a busy year ahead. He hinted at returning for the second season of a show he hosted last year, believed to be the Kapuso reality dance competition "Stars on the Floor." "Actually may magbabalik na isang show na ginawa ko rin last year and it's gonna be our Season 2 so kahit hindi ko naman sabihin alam niyo na kung ano yun but we're very excited kasi at least it goes to show the first run did very well and was much appreciated by the audience," he said.
Additionally, Richards is preparing to play a villain for the first time in the international film "Big Tiger," co-starring Byron Mann and Luke Goss.
"Code Gray" is expected to premiere soon on GMA Prime, offering viewers a blend of medical intrigue and Richards' dramatic prowess.
