The headmaster of Alliance High School has confirmed that the mattress store was burned on the night leading to Thursday with no student injured.
In a message to parents on Thursday morning, the headmaster called them to an emergency meeting at the school that was set to start at 4 a.m. The aims were to inform parents about the incident and steps taken, discuss issues of concern and get direction on the future. News of the fire emerged on Wednesday night with videos being shared. Initial reports claimed the fire had occurred in one of the dormitories but later reports showed it was in the mattress store for students who had finished school. This comes one week after the tragedy at Utumishi Girls in Gilgil where 16 students lost their lives in a suspected arson incident. That case is still ongoing in Naivasha Court.
