Arc Raiders adds festive event and cold snap condition tomorrow

Embark Studios is rolling out the Flickering Flames community event for Arc Raiders starting tomorrow, bringing snow-covered maps and new environmental challenges. Players will face a Cold Snap condition that introduces frostbite risks and frozen terrain, alongside opportunities to gather resources for exclusive rewards. The update also includes a new free Raider Deck and the game's first character departure window.

Upcoming Event: Flickering Flames

Starting December 16, Arc Raiders players can participate in the Flickering Flames event, which encourages gathering Candleberries and sources of light from the game's world. These resources must be deposited at the central hub, similar to previous community-driven unlocks like the Stella Montis map. Participants can earn cosmetics, weapons, raider tokens, and new items by contributing before the event ends on January 13. This festive push aims to build community engagement during the holiday season.

Cold Snap Map Condition

Alongside the event, a new environmental effect called Cold Snap will affect outdoor maps, blanketing them in snow and making traversal more hazardous. Water bodies will freeze into unstable surfaces, visibility will decrease, and prolonged exposure outside will cause frostbite damage to characters. Players must seek shelter indoors to avoid health penalties. This condition rotates in with existing ones like Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storms, adding variety to expeditions.

Additional Features

On December 26, a permanent and free Goalie Raider Deck becomes available, offering rewards including a unique hockey stick tool for gameplay. This mirrors the structure of the initial launch deck. Furthermore, December marks the opening of the first departure window, allowing players to send leveled characters on permanent expeditions in exchange for an XP boost and special rewards.

These updates conclude the game's initial roadmap from Embark Studios, leaving future content for 2026 uncertain but promising fresh starts for players.
