The incident occurred after a band troupe had safely crossed the bridge. Sacred items from the Bhandara, including Takode Barke deities, were damaged in the collapse at Bavada Bailu.
The event took place in Dakshina Kannada district. Officials have yet to determine the cause of the collapse. The injured devotees are receiving treatment.
