Carboneras postpones vote on El Algarrobico building license

The Carboneras town council postponed without a date the vote to annul the building license for the El Algarrobico hotel. The decision was made this Wednesday with support from PSOE and non-attached councilors.

The municipal plenary approved by seven votes in favor and five against a motion presented by former mayor Felipe Cayuela to delay the deliberation. Mayor Salvador Hernández of Ciudadanos and PP councilors voted against.

The postponement was justified by the need for three additional reports on possible patrimonial, urbanistic and legal responsibilities for the municipality. No date was set for the next session.

Hours later, the Andalusian PSOE temporarily suspended its five Carboneras councilors from party membership for voting in favor of the delay, a decision it deemed contrary to party guidelines. The PSOE reaffirmed its commitment to execute the Andalusian High Court of Justice ruling that declares the license null.
