Dragonbane: Trudvang TTRPG fully funds in four minutes on Kickstarter

Free League Publishing launched Dragonbane: Trudvang, a standalone Nordic-inspired tabletop RPG, on Kickstarter on February 17. The campaign exceeded its funding goal in just four minutes, attracting over 2,200 backers. Drawing from Norse mythology like Valheim, the game offers new features for fantasy RPG enthusiasts.

Free League Publishing, known for tabletop RPGs based on properties like ALIEN and The Lord of the Rings, released Dragonbane in 2023 as an English translation of the Swedish classic Drakar Och Demoner. Dragonbane: Trudvang builds on this by transforming the longstanding campaign setting Trudvang into a full standalone game.

The Kickstarter for Dragonbane: Trudvang began on February 17 and concluded its funding phase rapidly, surpassing the $27,923 goal in four minutes. By the time of reporting, pledges reached over $473,600, exceeding the target by more than 16 times, with backers numbering over 2,200. The campaign runs until March 19, offering beta PDF access to all backers ahead of the full release.

Trudvang, first introduced in the early 2000s for the original Swedish Dragonbane edition, is reimagined by veteran Magnus Seter. This Nordic-inspired world of "deep forests and endless mystery" aligns with games like Valheim through its cultural and mythological roots. The core rulebook uses Dragonbane's 2023 rules but stands alone, introducing unique kin, professions, heroic abilities, and a new magic system for extended campaigns.

Pledge options start at $23 for the core rulebook, with a full digital set at $78. Additional components include a bestiary, lore book, and a four-part epic campaign, providing comprehensive support for players.
