Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate phone calls with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. He reviewed Egypt's intensive efforts with regional and international partners to halt military escalation, presenting proposals for calm to avoid regional volatility and highlighting the 'dire economic consequences' of ongoing tensions.
Abdelatty stressed the need to maintain a diplomatic path and dialogue to contain the 'dangerous situation', assuring continued Egyptian efforts to end the war. The German and Canadian ministers expressed appreciation for the 'sincere efforts' by Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan, with all parties agreeing to sustain coordination for regional security.
In Cairo, Abdelatty met Lauri Hussar, Speaker of the Estonian Parliament, to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments. They addressed growing Egyptian-Estonian ties in trade and investment, parliamentary exchanges, cultural and educational dialogue, and capacity building in cyber security, artificial intelligence, digital governance, and tourism.
The meeting covered the Palestinian cause, situations in Sudan, Lebanon, and Libya, and Egyptian water security. Hussar praised Egypt's constructive role in supporting stability amid complex regional crises.
