The Burundian president visited the National Palace Museum with Prime Minister Abiy. At the former imperial palace site, the two leaders recalled Africa's great historical chapter together, according to the Prime Minister's Office. He also received the key to the Adwa Dam monument at the Adwa victory memorial and acknowledged the history of freedom struggle.
PM Abiy highlighted that Ethiopia and Burundi share a deep history of brotherhood and joint struggle. President Ndayishimiye visited the Ministry of Defense, meeting Lt. Gen. Aisha Mohammed and senior generals. He praised Ethiopia's defense forces as Africa's best, noting their roles in Burundi peacekeeping and Somalia, and discussed enhancing military cooperation, training, and support.
