Pierre Gasly has been reinstated in third place at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix after FIA stewards overturned his two pit lane speeding penalties. The decision followed a right of review requested by his Alpine team.

Gasly crossed the finish line third on June 7 but received two five-second penalties that dropped him to seventh. Stewards ruled on June 12 in Barcelona that Gasly had not exceeded the 60km/h limit after evidence showed an error in the official timing system distance measurement.

The Frenchman told Sky Sports he was proud of the team but noted the outcome would not replace the missed podium celebrations. "It won't give me back what I lost," he said. "These moments are what make a career so special."

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar lost the podium position and now sits fourth. McLaren and Red Bull have notified their intention to appeal within the 96-hour window. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said the team is assessing options for George Russell, who was also penalised.

Formula One Management said it will implement any necessary improvements to pit lane procedures. Alpine gains nine additional points in both championships.

The FIA will hold a virtual hearing on Thursday to consider Alpine's request for a review of penalties that cost Pierre Gasly a podium in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Pierre Gasly hailed Alpine's 2026 car as the best of his Formula 1 career following his seventh-place finish ahead of Max Verstappen in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. The French driver withstood intense pressure from the four-time champion over the final laps. Gasly's result helped Alpine maintain a narrow lead over Red Bull in the constructors' standings.

Isack Hadjar finished third in the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his second career Formula 1 podium and the first for Red Bull Racing's second driver since April 2024.

Liam Lawson avoided a penalty for colliding with Pierre Gasly during the Miami Grand Prix after stewards confirmed a gearbox failure in his Racing Bulls car caused the incident. The lap-five crash sent Gasly's Alpine flipping into the barriers, forcing both drivers to retire. Lawson described the mechanical issue as unavoidable.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc dropped from sixth to eighth place after receiving a 20-second post-race time penalty at the 2026 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The FIA stewards converted an uncompleted drive-through penalty for multiple off-track excursions following a final-lap spin at Turn 3 that damaged his car, ruling he gained a lasting advantage despite impaired handling.
