France defeated Norway 4:1 to secure the Group I win at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ousmane Dembélé scored a first-half hat-trick.
World Cup co-favorite France defeated Norway 4:1 on Thursday. Dembélé scored in the 7th, 20th and 32nd minutes in front of 64,146 spectators at the stadium in Foxborough near Boston.
Thelo Aasgaard scored Norway’s equalizer in the 21st minute. Désiré Doué made it 4:1 in stoppage time.
Dembélé’s hat-trick was the second-fastest in World Cup history. Norway had already reached the knockout stage but fielded a B-team.
As group winners France could face Germany in the round of 16. Norway will play Ivory Coast next Tuesday.
