Hellvig and Andersson eliminated at Malmö Beach Pro Tour

Jonatan Hellvig and Anton Andersson were knocked out in the quarterfinals during Saturday’s Malmö Beach Pro Tour. At the same time world number one Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Alfred Mjörnheim advanced to the semifinals.

It was set up for a Swedish beach volleyball celebration on the Ribban in Malmö on Saturday. But star pair Jonatan Hellvig and Anton Andersson started with a loss in the first quarterfinal.

– It is really disappointing today actually, says Malmö resident Anton Andersson.

World number one Jacob Hölting Nilsson played with substitute Alfred Mjörnheim after regular partner Elmer Andersson injured his hip. The pair advanced to the semifinals even though they had never played together before.

– We have never played with each other before, so we have not so much to lose, says Hölting Nilsson.
