A winning bid involving Henderson Land Development to operate the Central Harbourfront Event Space has expanded the developer's footprint in Hong Kong's core business district Central to three prime locations. The company already manages the International Finance Centre (IFC).
In addition to the IFC, Henderson in 2021 secured the district’s last major plot—a site dubbed the “land king”—to go on sale. This site is being developed into the Central Yards retail and office space, with the first phase expected to open in 2027 and the second completed in 2032.
Experts say the successful bid could result in greater accessibility for Central and more visitors from surrounding commercial properties.
