She paired a new-to-her vintage hat with a cream and black Self-Portrait dress. The event marked her return to public duties after previous absences due to cancer treatment.
The spring garden parties at Buckingham Palace recognize public service by inviting thousands of veterans, charity workers and community leaders. Kate chose a wide-brimmed black and cream straw hat by the late British milliner Mitzi Lorenz, who operated a shop on Great Portland Street from 1938 until her death in 1999. She completed the look with Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain pearl drop earrings and Ralph Lauren pumps.
