Kim Junsu agency cuts ties with producer after allegations

Palm Tree Island has ended all work with an outsourced producer tied to Kim Junsu’s album following criminal allegations reported in Korean media. The agency issued a detailed statement on June 26, 2026, clarifying the situation. It stressed that the matter is personal and unrelated to the company or the artist.

According to the agency, it first learned of the issue in May through a certified letter. After fact-checking, Palm Tree Island confirmed the individual was not an employee but an outsourced producer on the fifth album Gravity. The company immediately severed ties and confirmed the producer is no longer involved in any projects.

The allegations surfaced after Cookie News reported that lyricist Hwang Yu Bin claimed her phone and cryptocurrency were stolen at a song camp hosted by the producer, now facing fraud and theft charges. Palm Tree Island pushed back on links to the artist, noting it did not plan or participate in the camp and that unused lyric drafts from the camp were not included on the album.

The agency expressed regret over reports creating misunderstandings and stated it will not tolerate confirmed criminal acts. It also warned of potential legal action against false information. This marks another instance of Kim Junsu’s name being connected to controversies through associates.
