A landslide occurred on Friday evening in Rödbo on northern Hisingen in Gothenburg. The area affected measures around 2,000 square metres, according to the rescue service. A horse in the barn was swept away in the slide, and it is unclear if it survived. Parts of the barn were destroyed, along with several farm belongings including a tractor, wheel loader, two cars, and a lawnmower. The farm owner, Alexander Karmark, 40, described the incident to SVT Väst: “It’s the tractor, wheel loader, two cars and a lawnmower among other things. And the horse.” He added to DN: “As luck would have it, the children didn’t see it happen.” No people were injured, but Alexander Karmark saw his farmyard swept away. Police and rescue services worked at the scene all Saturday, and a large area around the slide remains cordoned off. The incident is classified as gross negligence endangering the public, but no one has been notified of suspicion yet.
