Lassi Lehtinen leaves HV71 for Björklöven

Goalkeeper Lassi Lehtinen has departed SHL club HV71 to join newly promoted Björklöven on a one-year deal. The move comes despite one year remaining on his contract with HV71.

Lassi Lehtinen arrived at HV71 from Modo ahead of the previous season. He appeared in 22 games but posted an 86.8 percent save rate.

HV71 already had three goaltenders under contract for next season: Felix Sandström, Herman Liv and Olof Glifford. Club sports director Johan Hult confirmed the sides reached an agreement that suited both parties.

Björklöven presented Lehtinen shortly after his departure from HV71. Sports director Per Kenttä highlighted the Finn’s experience in Liiga, the national team and the SHL, along with his desire to rebound.
