Leaders of the Linda Mwananchi faction have intensified their campaign with a visit to Mombasa, greeted by a large crowd while criticizing ODM leadership and President Ruto's government. They stressed that separating from ODM is inevitable to restore the party's original principles. Godfrey Osotsi announced his official joining after his removal from ODM.
Linda Mwananchi leaders, including Siaya Governor James Orengo and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, arrived in Mombasa and addressed a large crowd at Tononoka grounds. They sharply criticized the current ODM leadership linked to Oburu Oginga and the national government.
Godfrey Osotsi, removed as ODM Deputy Leader, said he will not challenge it in court. "I will not go to court to oppose my removal. I have decided to let it go. From today, I am the Deputy Leader of Linda Mwananchi," Osotsi stated.
Sifuna, still ODM Secretary General, questioned the validity of Osotsi's removal and said he does not recognize ODM without Raila Odinga. "Osotsi was appointed by Raila Odinga himself. Who now has the authority to remove him?" he asked. He urged Oburu to appoint someone else.
Orengo condemned the betrayal of the Ruto-Raila agreement, promising 2027 changes through votes. Babu Owino and others decried economic hardships and poor port management, pledging to revive Coast industries.
The leaders urged youth to register as voters and hinted at a major political announcement after nationwide campaigns.
