Naomi Schiff says Red Bull demotion aided Liam Lawson

Former W Series driver and Sky Sports Formula 1 analyst Naomi Schiff believes Liam Lawson's demotion from Red Bull has helped his career. Lawson has scored points in five of the first seven Grands Prix of 2026 while driving for Racing Bulls.

Schiff made the comments on the Up To Speed podcast after the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. Lawson finished eighth there and collected four points.

She said Lawson barely got an opportunity at the main Red Bull team before the move back to RB. Schiff added that the change has allowed him to thrive because the team regularly scores points and ranks among the top 10.

Lawson currently stands 10th in the drivers' championship with 28 points. His teammate Arvid Lindblad is 13th with 13 points, placing RB sixth in the constructors' standings with 41 points.
