A Las Vegas father had his hand amputated after a drunk driver allegedly struck his truck during his morning commute on May 15.
Rogelio Vidal was driving to his commercial painting job around 6 a.m. when Aaron Nelson Hall hit his vehicle on a ramp connecting Interstate 11 and Interstate 15 near the Spaghetti Bowl interchange in downtown Las Vegas. The impact caused Vidal's truck to flip multiple times. He suffered severe injuries to his hand that required amputation at UMC trauma center. Hall was arrested and charged with felony DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, reckless driving and traffic misdemeanors. He posted $75,000 bail and has pleaded not guilty. Vidal told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he wants the other driver to pay damages but is trying to focus on forgiveness. His family launched a GoFundMe to help with costs.
