On Tuesday (December 16), he brought his Taurus G3 pistol to the site. According to the police report, Almeida removed the loaded magazine before leaving home and replaced it with an unloaded one. At the club, after receiving ammunition and a target at reception, he released the magazine catch to remove it and load it, at which point the gun fired accidentally. Witnesses told police that, after receiving training materials, Almeida turned toward other attendees and fired the shot, hitting Marcelo Satochi Tokuda in the heart area. The 51-year-old victim died at the scene. Almeida, 65, was arrested in flagrante by the Military Police.

The incident was recorded at the 72nd Police District (Vila Penteado), which requested forensics at the scene and seized the weapon used. According to Metrópoles reporting, the pastor was released after paying a R$45,000 bail in cash.
