Bahia Military Police corporal Celeste Martins Oliveira do Nascimento, 39, was killed by gunshots on Friday (3) in Salvador. Her partner, also a military police officer, was detained on suspicion of feminicide.
The crime took place at a residence in the Barbalho neighborhood. According to the Civil Police, the suspect fired shots at the victim, fled and later turned himself in at the Department of Homicides and Person Protection headquarters.
He was accompanied by a lawyer and remains in custody. Both agencies confirmed the facts in notes sent to Folha, without naming the detainee.
The Military Police stated that it is monitoring the case and will adopt appropriate administrative measures. The Civil Police said inquiries and hearings are underway to clarify the crime.
