Racing draws 1-1 with Caracas in copa sudamericana

Racing and Caracas drew 1-1 at the Presidente Perón stadium in the Copa Sudamericana group stage. The match opened with an own goal by Gabriel Rojas before Gastón Martirena equalized after four minutes.

The match was played without spectators due to a Conmebol sanction of three games without fans. The measure followed a delayed start in a previous match against Flamengo.

At the 15-minute mark Racing held 66 percent possession and recorded five shots on target compared to one for Caracas. Both teams fielded lineups confirmed by coaches Gustavo Costas and Henry Meléndez.

The score leaves both clubs with chances in the group-stage standings. The game continued live on Disney+ Premium and ESPN 2.
