The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has deactivated the digital IDs of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao amid an SIT probe into donation theft. Police recovered cash and jewellery from three accused.
An investigation into theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is underway. The trust, under acting general secretary Krishan Mohan, deactivated the digital IDs of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao. These IDs were used to issue VIP darshan passes.
Sources said the SIT probe revealed misuse of the IDs. Tinnu Yadav and others allegedly issued hundreds of unauthorised passes. The trust also froze 30 bank accounts linked to the accused and their relatives.
Ayodhya police recovered cash, jewellery and documents from Luvkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra and Karunesh Pandey. The accused admitted closeness to Anil Mishra but did not implicate him in the theft. Police are expected to seek custody of four more accused.
