Raphaël Arnault thanks LFI during concert at Place de la République

On Friday evening at Place de la République in Paris, Raphaël Arnault, founder of the Jeune Garde, spoke at the La France Insoumise concert authorized by the courts after a prefectural ban.

The concert took place in intense heat. Manuel Bompard, LFI coordinator, called to “sweep away” those in power and “put in place another power.” Mathilde Panot stated that the authorities were “right to be afraid” of the movement.

Manon Aubry described the Fête de la Musique as an “eminently political” celebration. Jean-Luc Mélenchon also spoke at the event.

Raphaël Arnault, implicated in the death of Quentin Deranque on February 23 in Lyon, thanked LFI for its “support.” The event had initially been banned by the prefecture over risks of public disorder before being authorized by the administrative tribunal.
