The Xunta de Galicia confirmed the project on June 1, 2026. The facility will have capacity to assemble up to 120,000 vehicles per year from 2028 and will create 1,000 direct jobs in Ferrol, more than 1,000 indirect jobs and 300 additional positions in As Pontes.

Construction will begin in 2027. The plant will start with final assembly of vehicles shipped from China and progress toward full production processes.
