The Social Health Authority has issued a public warning about fraudsters posing as its officials and targeting patients and healthcare providers with promises of faster services in exchange for payments.
The Social Health Authority issued the notice on July 1, 2026, after receiving multiple reports of individuals falsely claiming to be SHA officers. These fraudsters allegedly demand money or gifts for expedited claims processing, payments, accreditation, or registration.
All SHA services are available only through official channels such as branch offices and Huduma Centres. The authority urged the public to avoid anyone offering preferential treatment on its behalf.
SHA advised reporting suspected cases to fraud@sha.go.ke or the toll-free line 147, and noted that matters can also be reported to the police.
