Suspects abandon bazuco and cocaine doses while fleeing police in Rivera

Two suspects fled from police in the municipality of Rivera after abandoning a bag containing 150 drug doses. Officers seized the material during a surveillance operation.

The events took place at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Fourth South Street in the Rivera con la Gente neighborhood, Las Torres sector. Officers spotted two men acting suspiciously inside a community kiosk.

Upon noticing the police, the men ran toward a wooded area and discarded a plastic bag. Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, confirmed the discovery.

“The subjects, upon noticing the police presence, fled toward a wooded area, throwing a plastic bag that was later verified by the officers,” the official stated. Inside were 100 doses of bazuco and 50 of cocaine.

The substances were turned over to the Attorney General’s Office.
