Swedish volunteer injured in Russian drone attack

Frida Stoltz, 37, was injured when a Russian drone struck a gas station in Ukraine's Poltava region on Friday evening. Six people were injured in total but no deaths have been reported.

Frida Stoltz is co-founder of the volunteer organisation Skicka vidare till Ukraina. She was with three colleagues delivering supplies when the group stopped to refuel their car at a gas station.

A Russian kamikaze drone struck the station shortly after two volunteers entered the building. Stoltz described the car window being pushed in followed by fireballs inside the vehicle. She and colleague Felix ran out and helped an injured man with pressure bandages.

Stoltz sustained burn and shrapnel injuries to her arm and a pressure sensation in her head. The group took shelter in a basement and continued their journey the next day. They returned to Sweden on Monday.

No deaths were reported from the attack. Stoltz stressed that the strike targeted a civilian site far from the front line and said the organisation will consider safety for future trips.
