'The King's Warden' duo scores wins at Baeksang Awards

The historical drama film 'The King's Warden' scored major wins at the 62nd Baeksang Awards on Friday.

Directed by Jang Hang-jun, the film portrays the friendship between a village chief and the exiled King Danjong during the Joseon Dynasty. Yoo Hae-jin won the grand prize, while Park Ji-hoon took best new actor and the popular male artist award.

Following its February release, the movie became the second-most watched film in Korean cinema history with around 17 million viewers. Yoo thanked the audience, noting renewed interest in cinema.

Park Chan-wook's 'No Other Choice' won best movie. Ryu Seung-ryong received the TV grand prize for his JTBC series.
