Tinashe announces eighth album Popstar and single Crash Out

Tinashe has announced her eighth studio album Popstar and released the new single Crash Out. The 16-track record is scheduled for release on September 25 via Nice Life and Atlantic Records.

The Kentucky-born R&B singer shared the track as a follow-up to the lead single Too Easy. Crash Out was produced by Couros and features a minimal snapping beat with lyrics including the line “I’m about to lose it, but I don’t really care no more.” A dance-heavy video directed by 91 Rules accompanies the song.

Popstar follows her 2024 album Quantum Baby, which included the viral single Nasty. That track marked Tinashe’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 entry and topped the US Rhythmic Airplay chart. She is also set to perform a DJ set at Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party next month.

Additional appearances include the All Things Go festival in Columbia, Maryland on September 27. The new album is available to pre-order now.
