Two horses held at Badminton Horse Trials trot-up

Two horses faced scrutiny during the opening trot-up for the Mars Badminton Horse Trials on May 6 but both passed inspection after re-presentation. All 61 entries advanced to dressage as a result. The event marks the start of the five-star competition in Gloucestershire.

Alex Bragg’s Quindiva, owned by the Roe family and third at Badminton in 2024, was the first horse sent to the holding box by the ground jury. She returned five horses later and received approval to compete. Belgium’s Wouter De Cleene also had Quintera held; the 14-year-old mare passed on re-inspection after her 2025 debut at the event.
