Formula 1 presenter Will Buxton has described the Monaco Grand Prix as the race drivers most want to win, citing its demands on skill and history despite limited overtaking.
Buxton spoke on the Up To Speed podcast about the event's unique appeal. He noted that qualifying stands out as one of the calendar's best sessions due to the high commitment required. Any small error can lead to a crash or major damage, he said. The presenter added that the race itself has rarely produced strong action, a pattern dating back decades. Yet the combination of glamour, tradition and the need for finesse keeps it on a pedestal, according to Buxton. He also mentioned Monaco's changeable microclimate, which can sometimes bring rain and create more variable conditions.
