Persija Jakarta has officially extended Witan Sulaeman's contract until 2029. The decision ends speculation about the future of the Indonesian national team winger.
Persija Jakarta announced the three-season contract extension for Witan Sulaeman on Saturday July 4 2026. The 24-year-old player will remain with the Macan Kemayoran until at least 2029.
Persija president Mohamad Prapanca expressed hope that coach Shin Tae-yong's presence would help Witan regain his best form. He mentioned the club's target of winning the title.
Witan said his main reason for staying was his family's love for Persija and Jakarta. He also wants to fulfill his ambition of bringing the club a championship title to make The Jakmania proud.
In the Super League 2025/2026 season Witan scored one goal and provided three assists. Before returning to Indonesia he had played for clubs in Serbia Poland and Slovakia.
