World's first fully sealed vertical-farming facility opens in Tokyo

PlantX has opened the world’s first fully sealed vertical-farming facility in Tokyo. Each unit independently controls light, air and water.

The facility opened in Tokyo on or before 9 July 2026. PlantX designed the system so that light, air and water can be adjusted separately in every growing unit.

This precise control enables the tailoring of nutritional values and sugar content in the agricultural products grown inside.

The project draws on agriculture and technology to create a fully sealed environment for crop production.
