Anthropic has upgraded its Claude voice mode to run on more powerful models and support connections to third-party apps.
Anthropic announced the changes on Thursday. Voice mode now uses Claude Opus and Sonnet in addition to Haiku, allowing deeper conversations than before. Users can switch models mid-conversation and move between voice and text without starting a new session.
The update also lets users speak to connected tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack and Canva. Paid subscribers gain access to all models and tools, while free users remain limited to Haiku and one connection.
Voice mode now supports 11 languages including English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish variants. Language switches must be made manually. The beta update is available on mobile, desktop and web.
