Independent watch brand Awake has released the Sơn Mài Frosted Leaf Royal Blue, a 200-piece limited edition featuring a Vietnamese lacquer dial with pure gold leaf. The model updates the earlier Frosted Leaf collection by replacing silver leaf with gold. It is priced at €3,000 including taxes.
The new watch uses a 38 × 44.75 × 11.5 mm stainless steel case that is 0.9 mm thinner than previous versions at the case level. It is fitted with an automatic La Joux-Perret G101 movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 68-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters.
The dial is built through the sơn mài process with multiple layers of lacquer, natural blue pigment, and hand-applied pure gold leaf. Each piece is unique due to the manual finishing. The updated Awake logo appears in a handwritten style above the dial.
The watch is delivered on a matching blue Alcantara strap. Awake describes the collection as an effort to highlight rare crafts at an accessible price point.
